Jan Vermeer, this son of Montjeu has been all the talk for Epsom since making a highly impressive reappearance in last Sunday's Gallinule Stakes at the Curragh. Punters have seemed to have forgotten about St Nicholas Abbey." pushing his price out from 7/4 fav to 4/1 second fav.
"The money for Jan Vermeer now 2/1 from 6/1 speaks volumes and the friendless St Nicolas has hardly been given a vote of confidence by Murtagh delaying a decision on his Derby mount until next week.
O'Brien has only committed St Nicholas Abbey and Leopardstown Trial winner Midas Touch to the Epsom Classic at the moment, with plans for Jan Vermeer and Dante winner Cape Blanco still has to be confirmed.
I'm a big Murtagh fan so whoever Johnny decides to ride will do for me. Very Happy

St Nicholas Abbey has now been withdrawn from the Investec Derby at Epsom on Saturday. The three-year-old was on Tuesday morning found to have suffered a slight muscle injury in a hind quarter, this has meant said the Ballydoyle trainer he could not work today and we were advised to give him an easy few days.
This is a very bitter pill to swallow for punters who have stayed loyal to St Nicholas Abbey through the winter and ever since he was so impressive in last years Racing Post Trophy, leading bookmakers say's this is a "£3million body-blow to punters".
Jan Vermeer is now clear 13-8 favourite with Sky Bet to win on Saturday. Sir Michael Stoute's Dante runner-up Workforce is now second favourite at 11/2, while Midas Touch is 6/1 with Bullet Train next in the running at 13/2.
